Welcome to my website!
I'm a dedicated and passionate animal massage therapist with a deep-rooted love for horses and dogs. With over 25 years of experience in the equine industry and a lifelong commitment to rescue dogs, I have cultivated a profound understanding of animal behaviour and the art of enhancing their well-being through therapeutic touch.
Why choose me? Let me tell you a bit more about myself.
My Journey into Animal Care:
My journey into the world of animal care began when I was just 17 years old, working at a bustling grand prix dressage yard in Guildford. It was here that my appreciation for the intricate movements of animals, especially horses, first took shape. What truly captivated me was witnessing the transformative power of veterinary physiotherapy in not only fixing but also enhancing the movements of these magnificent creatures. This sparked my curiosity and set me on a path to discover the qualities necessary for success in this field.
A Wealth of Experience:
In my career as a competition groom, I've had the privilege of working at various levels in multiple equine disciplines, including dressage, show jumping, and polo. I've held positions as a head groom and worked independently in sole charge roles. In that time, I've collaborated with a spectrum of professionals, including veterinarians, physiotherapists, dentists, remedial farriers, and chiropractors. These experiences have afforded me a deep appreciation for the work these professionals do and how they have positively impacted the animals under my care.
My Professional Skills
My extensive background in the equine industry has instilled in me an unwavering work ethic, both as a team player and in solo roles. Over the years, I've worked on grand prix yards as part of a team and have also managed private family yards independently, taking on responsibilities that encompassed day-to-day management, horse care, and training. This experience honed my time management and organisational skills, making me well-prepared for a career in animal massage therapy.
Educational Pursuits and Qualifications
After having my daughter, I decided to pursue my passion for making a difference in the lives of animals. I embarked on a journey of retraining and self-improvement. I am now fully qualified and insured in 'therapeutic massage for animals,' an achievement awarded by The Royal Agricultural University and delivered by Plumpton College. My educational journey is ongoing, with the goal of attaining a BSc (Hons) degree in veterinary physiotherapy. This commitment reflects my dedication to providing the best possible care for animals and continuously expanding my knowledge and skills.
Thank you for visiting my website, and I look forward to the opportunity to support your beloved animals through the power of therapeutic touch.
My Love for Rescued Dogs
My connection with animals extends beyond the equine world. I have owned dogs throughout my life, most of which have been rescues. My experience with rescue dogs has deepened my understanding of the importance of patience, compassion, and therapeutic touch in helping animals overcome challenges and thrive.
