Therapeutic Massage for All Animals Great or Small
We're dedicated to enhancing the well-being of your beloved animals through the power of therapeutic massage. We provide professional services for horses, dogs, and small animals in Horam, East Sussex, and the surrounding areas.
What is Animal Massage?
Animal massage is a therapeutic practice that aims to improve the physical and mental well-being of equines and small animals. It's an essential profession that combines knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and massage therapy techniques to enhance and restore musculoskeletal function. Animal massage serves various purposes, including warming up, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance maintenance.
The autonomic benefits of therapeutic animal massage are profound. It releases endorphins, reduces cortisol levels, lowers heart rates, reduces anxiety, and acts as a natural form of pain relief. Physically, it improves range of motion and mobility, aids in injury prevention, manages pain, and relieves spasm and tension. The primary goal of this treatment is to restore function, promote well-being, and improve the overall quality of life for your animals.
Jennie, our experienced therapist, leverages her extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics to design a customised program tailored to meet the unique needs of your animals. We understand that each animal is distinct, and personalised treatment is essential for their health and well-being. Don't hesitate to reach out for a free phone consultation, where we can discuss how we can best help your animal.
What to Expect During an Assessment and Treatment
During an assessment and treatment session, you can expect a comprehensive evaluation of your animal's condition.
The process involves the following steps:
Static and Dynamic Assessment: We will assess your animal statically, analysing posture, conformation, muscular balance, symmetry, and abnormalities. Following this, a dynamic assessment is performed to understand the connection between biomechanics and posture.

Muscle Palpation:
We utilise muscle palpation and range of motion exercises to gain a deeper understanding of your animal's movement and restrictions.
Devising a Treatment Plan: Based on the assessments, we devise a tailored treatment plan using a variety of range of motion exercises, joint mobilizations, and massage techniques. This plan is designed to address your animal's specific needs and the goals that we have discussed.
Our treatment interventions are focused on enhancing muscle tone and improving range of motion. We are dedicated to helping your animal feel and perform their best.
Aftercare Program:
To ensure the lasting benefits of the treatment, we provide an aftercare program to support your animal's ongoing well-being.

'Odyssey looks forwards to his regular massages! And is getting better and better each time!
Youre very calm and empathetic with him, being an inexperienced young horse your treatments are so incredibly valuable for him and his future. Very lucky to have found a physio with a strong understanding of young horses, as well as breeds that arent the typical.
I have my yard of 5 horses treated and couldn’t fault how you handle each and every single one of them, the difference in all of them from their first assessment is incredible! Would recommend to anyone❤️'

'Calm, empathetic and knowledgeable including spotting a cause of pain that a very good vet missed. My sensitive, older gentleman horse really enjoyed the treatment and I've already booked in for a repeat treatment. Love that she uses red light therapy too.'

'Jennie has made a significant impact since May, and we have noticed a marked difference in his way of going. We always look forward to each session. Jennie keeps it fun but is sympathetic and responsive to any new challenge. Furthermore, the sessions are always positive, professional, and encouraging. Communication is excellent; she explains things clearly along the way. Our horse always looks happy and relaxed after, so it's worth every penny for us. We would certainly recommend this service to others. Thanks, Jennie!👍🙂💛'
